I really enjoyed reading Navigating Genres by Kerry Dirk because it was an easy read. Being the fact that the style of writing was very different and wasn’t like our traditional essay format that could appear to be boring to some. This style of writing with the question and answer format almost like an interview mixed in with a letter kept me intrigued into reading the entire article. Genre is something that is quite easy to understand and process through reading because it’s basically the type of category that something is placed in, whether it’s music, movies or even books. In this reading the author explains to us what a genre is and how to include the forms of rhetoric in their essay. I like how the author gives us a background of what he wants to talk about especially in the beginning of the reading how the author includes bullet points about country music and describes what country music is about and the mood. I enjoyed the line where the author says “genres shape our everyday lives”. I agree with the author because we use genres every single day. Genre is basically what makes us, is. It determines our likes and dislikes that make us similar to our friends because we may like the same genre of music or books. Lastly also liked how the author is informing us on how to write a rhetorical genre essay step by step which is helpful to readers of they ever need to write one.

I totally agree because I find genre to be little easier to read. reading is not something I do not enjoy at all, however genre books do motivate me to read because it is very diverse and it has many verity of topics to choose.
