This assignment will ask you to explore the types of experiences that you have had, and to document them using a specific genre – the resume or curriculum vita (CV).  In addition, you will be responsible for writing a 2-3 page analysis of those experiences. Where do you see gaps in your experiences? In your types of experiences?  What will you need to do during the next few years to become a professional in your field? As we compose this assignment, we will meet with a representative from the Career Services office to discuss internship possibilities.

  • Your resume should exhibit the typical genre characteristics of a resume.
  • As you compose your resume or CV, think about the type of positions (or, perhaps, schools) you may be applying to in the future. What skills, past experience, or awards need to be emphasized in order to show your readiness to take on that new position?
  • Your analysis should explain your rhetorical choices in the resume/CV, and explain how each element connects to the profession you’d eventually like to pursue.
